Haruka stifled a yawn of as she headed back into the crystal palace. The senshi often took turns patrolling the palace grounds during the evenings, a few more than others. Not that she blamed any of them thought the blonde sleepily as she walked down the hallway, her boots clinking in time to the leisure pace as she progressed closer and closer to the quarters she shared with Michiru. Looking out a large glass window, Haruka happened to catch a glimpse of silver hair outside in one of the palace's many gardens. Standing on the edge of a fountain was Serenity, precariously balancing along the edge, the bottom of her pink and white pajamas getting soaked as she tried to stay still and yet move forward on the small piece of marble she was standing on. The former racer smiled sadly and watched with amusement as her princess, one of the leaders of the planet, try to balance the rest of her childhood and yet become an adult at the same time. It was not an easy task. Serenity always carried her burden on her wings not matter what incarnation. And Usagi had been the worst. She wanted everything to be alright and she wanted everyone to be happy. She had been naive to believe that everything would be set right in the end. Haruka had wanted to believe. Pressing a hand against the glass, Uranus sighed. She had tried to force herself to believe. But it never happened. She could not see what Usagi had seen. She could not accept the small leap of faith that Usagi and the others so willingly found solace in. They were their own future, to be made with their own hands.
There was no such thing as destiny.
At least, so she thought.
It took one aqua haired senshi to make her believe.
It could have been destiny, Haruka didn't know. Maybe it had been. Maybe Elsa Grey had been an unknowing pawn in the fates' woven web. But something had brought them together and had awakened their memories. It was no concidence when all three of the outer senshi had been brought together at Mugen Gakuen. Just as fate had seen that Serenity now had all eight of her sailor soliders by her side.
But it had taken a lot for Haruka to believe.
It was the simple things at first. Trust, caring, compassion. Hotaru as a toddler. The simple innocence of a child, their trust that they would be taken care of, all their needs met.
It was the same foundation as being a sailor senshi. Serenity believed her soldiers would always be there for her.
And in the end, she would save them all.
And that she did.
Chaos and Galaxia had been formidable opponents. But it was Serenity's faith that she could save everyone that won in the end. It was her faith in herself that let the silver crystal would produce the power needed to make her dreams of everyone being together come true.
Faith.
It was an easy word, but yet such a hard lesson to learn.
Haruka watched as crystalline blue eyes widened in fear as Usagi lost her footing and slipped off the side of the fountain. The senshi of Uranus hurriedly ran to the door that led outside, watching in relief as Usagi only stumbled into the water, but kept upright. Haruka couldn't help but laugh and shake her head as Usagi tried to wring the water out of her pajama pants. The servants of the palace were going to have a field day in the morning at the amount of water that they would find in their freshly cleaned carpet. The senshi of Uranus rapped on the glass, surprising Serenity to the fact that someone had been watching her antics all this time. With a mischievious grin, Uranus blew a kiss to Serenity before heading down the hall to her rooms.
Maybe trust and faith weren't so hard after all.
